Pre-launch Jitters: Getting Started in Entrepreneurship

At Business in the Streets, we've graduated over 600 entrepreneurs and have learned a thing or two about what starting a business with limited resources actually looks like.

This session is about sharing those lessons with you. In this part-panel discussion, part-presentation you will learn about what it takes to start a business and begin making money from it.

We will be discussing the ins-and-outs of early-stage entrepreneurship, how to structure a business to actually earn revenue, and share advice for those looking to get started

Employment Connections: Justice Week 2020 -> October 26th -30th Events are open to all Job Seekers 18 years of age and older that identify as residing in a neighbourhood that has been impacted by violence, currently on probation or parole, have a criminal record or identify as having a conflict with the law.

Organized by

Employment Connections is a partnership between the Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services, fifteen Toronto Employment Agencies from the Youth Employment Partnerships (YEP) Network, Social Development, Finance & Administration (City of Toronto) & Toronto Employment and Social Services (City of Toronto). Although Employment Connections focuses on supporting youth on probation and parole with yearlong employment service help, the network also builds an annual Job Fairs that is focused on supporting all Toronto residents that identify as having a conflict with the law, are on probation or parole or have a criminal record. It is our goal to remove the barier of a criminal record to allow job seekers to focus on their skills and experience and to recruit employers that believe in the individual and want to provide an opportunity for mutual success.
